Abigail Appleyard

Public health researcher and student leader focused on safer-sex education, harm reduction, and community-driven STI testing programs.

Background

Abigail is a public health undergraduate at the University of Washington, where she chairs the Husky Health Center Student Advisory Board. In that role, she works directly with student health leadership to set priorities, develop safer-sex and harm reduction materials, and run STI testing campaigns reaching thousands of UW students.

For Chekd Health, Abigail researches and drafts educational content on STI screening and sexual health, with a focus on translating evidence into clear, accessible guidance for our readers.

Abigail is pursuing a BA in Public Health with a minor in Anthropology at the University of Washington, with academic interests in clinical research, health policy, and inequities in healthcare.
